Membership

Membership is open to anyone interested in genealogical study and research. The society is non-sectarian and visitors are always welcome at all functions.

Benefits

  • free use of Society resources,
  • a subscription to the Tri-City Genealogical Society Bulletin,
  • publication of your pedigree, surnames being researched, family group sheets, and queries in the Society's Bulletin,
  • access to the MembersOnly section of the TCGS web site. This section of the web site contains:
    • Electronic copies of handouts from earlier Mini-Lessons or general meetings.
    • Electronic copies of all recent TCGS bulletins.
    • Information on TCGS projects such as the School Census transcription. What is happening and who to contact if you'd like to help.
    • Society's by-laws and procedures (AKA job descriptions).

How to Join

Dues are $20 per year for an individual or $25 for two or more persons in the same household; membership is on a calendar year basis with half-year memberships available for those joining after July 1. Send name(s) and address with dues check to the address on the printable form or contact our membership chair for more information.

What we do:

  • publish the TCGS Bulletin three times a year in March, July and November,
  • publish a Monthly Update which is distributed at each general meeting and then posted to this website each month,
  • maintain an email list as a conduit to classes taught at local FHCs and notification of other important genealogical events in the area,
  • provide a research service through our Research Committee, see Research,
  • host seminars and nationally known genealogical speakers,
  • maintain a Member’s Interest Surname Index based on pedigrees or ahnentafel lists submitted by members.
