The TCGS library includes 2,900 books, 450 periodicals, 200 CDs, 3000 microfilms and thousands of microfiche. Below are the catalogs for these resources to help you prepare for a visit to our library.
Our catalogs have been reorganized and updated. The catalogs for books, fiche and CDs have been expanded to include short descriptions of each book/fiche/CD that often including the surnames included or the counties covered. Each catalog is a work-in-progress, and will be updated periodically.
Usage instructions are:
You will need Adobe Reader installed on your system to use it. Download and install
Adobe Reader. It's easy and takes less than five minutes.
Each catalog is organized by location.
Within each catalog the resource headings on the first page are hyperlinks that will take you directly to each state, country, or topic of interest.
You can use Adobe Reader’s powerful search function to find all occurrences of a topic, place, name, etc.
Go to Edit/Search (not Find) and enter the word or phrase of interest.
There is no wildcard capability, but you can enter a few letters to find all the words containing those letters. For example, entering penn finds all occurrences of Pennsylvania. Similarly, entering Os and checking Case-Sensitive finds all the Osborn, Osborne, Osburn, etc. spelling variants.
Enlarging the Search window shows the word or phrase with its surrounding words, and clicking on the item of interest takes you to its location in the document.

With the change in directors (August 2009), the Gage FHC has decided to not keep a book and periodical collection. That collection has been transferred to the Richland FHC. Those books and periodicals are now incorporated into the catalogs at the Richland FHC (see the catalog links above).
