Local Opportunity

Charlotte Kennedy is presenting another class about Heritage Quest Online at the Richland FHC at 1:30 pm, August 26. Topics for this session are PERCI and the Revolutionary War Records. Everyone has access to Heritage Quest Online through his local public library. Most libraries, including Richland and MCL provide online access outside the library.

TCGS is cooperating with the Mid Columbia Library to present a series genealogy workshops. The titles of the 4 sessions are:

  • Getting Started with Your Family History was presented 23 Jan 2010.
  • Understanding Sources & Documentations was presented April 24, 2010.
  • Searching on the Internet was presented July 17, 2010 at the Mid Columbia Library
  • Accessing Resources will be presented Oct 23, 2010

    • Photo Collections –Three new collections are accessible from our Search Records page:
      • The TriCity Herald's Collections includes several series covering Hanford (180 photos), Richland (226 photos), Kennewick (319 photos), Pasco (180 photos) and historical celebrations (241 photos).
      • Hanford Dig – photos from the excavation of the Hanford (town) landfill, fall 2009
      • Return to Hanford – photos of a visit to Hanford (town) and specifically the Bruggemann family property
    • Book Collection – August 2009 was the publication date of a new local history book, “Images of America: Early Pasco” by our own Susan Davis Faulkner. On our Search Records page you will find indexes to both “Images of America: Early Pasco” and “Images of America: Early Kennewick”. The book Images of America: Richland also exists but lacks an index. If you'd like to index this book and post the index here contact the webmaster.
